Telesales/Teleresearch Professional
The Opportunity
Grow Sales, Inc. is a strategic marketing agency specializing in sales growth solutions for small businesses in the healthcare IT and graphic arts sectors. Since 1996, we’ve helped dozens of clients across the country achieve their business growth goals with an intelligent mix of outbound marketing, public relations, web and graphic design, lead generation/sales support and business consulting services.
We’re looking for a highly personable and fast-thinking individual to join our team as the Telesales/Teleresearch Professional. The position will begin as part-time (10+ hrs/week) but may expand to full-time (40+ hrs/week) based on client need, company growth, and the chosen candidate’s success. In this fast-paced position, you’ll conduct basic market research, obtain lead generation information and qualify prospects in a wide variety of markets on behalf of our clients.
Responsibilities of the Telesales/Teleresearch Professional include:
- Cold-calling businesses in a wide variety of markets on behalf of our clients.
- Developing a talking points document designed to guide each call toward prospect qualification and lead generation.
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive business profile for each dialed prospect.
- Adhering to an established minimum standard of dialings per day.
- Sending follow-up materials to qualified prospects and scheduling additional follow-up activities when necessary.
- Sending a daily “wrap-up” email to each client that contains your calling activities, acquired lead-generation information and suggested client follow-up actions.
- Using sales databases, lead-generation programs, company websites and other resources to research prospects prior to initial calls.

Excellent verbal communication skills - The Telesales/Teleresearch Professional
should have the ability to engage in phone conversations with a diverse range of people, clearly articulate each client’s selling proposition/core competencies and skillfully obtain relevant prospect information via intelligent inquiries. The Telesales/Teleresearch Professional should also be able to speak intelligently about the market into which he or she is calling and handle initial sales objections from prospects.
Excellent organization skills - Diligent management of numerous client profile sheets will be an important aspect of our Telesales/Teleresearch Professional’s success. Adherence to the established standard of minimum dialings is absolutely critical as well.
Desire and ability to learn and apply sales techniques over the phone - You must be eager and willing to quickly learn and apply sales techniques during your calls when applicable.
Business savvy - Your ability to intuitively comprehend the organizational chain-of-command and identify the key business influencers within each dialed company will be crucial to your success as the Telesales/Teleresearch Professional.
Perseverance and determination This position may involve calling the same business numerous times to get around the “gatekeeper”; it may involve getting hung up on. A successful Telesales/Market Research advisor will apply perseverance, diligence and intelligence to the cold-calling process in order to reach the right people.

The Requirements:
- Experience and comfort speaking on the phone, preferably in a business or sales capacity
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Good writing skills
- Good organization skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- High School or equivalency degree required; College degree preferred
Desirable (but not necessary):
- Past experience in a direct sales, telesales or market research capacity
- Knowledge and understanding of core sales/marketing principles
- Knowledge of or experience within the graphic arts industry
- Experience using InfoUSA and other marketing database resources
